About

Kwowt is a daily demotivational quote for people who are tired of being told they can do anything.

What is Kwowt?

Kwowt publishes one beautifully bleak quote a day. Not a newsletter stuffed with hustle, gratitude, and five things successful people do before 6am, just a single sentence to remind you that ambition is mostly a scheduling problem.

Why does this exist?

The internet has enough motivational quotes. Somewhere between “rise and grind” and “you are enough”, somebody needed to say: probably not, and that’s fine. Kwowt is the antidote to toxic positivity, written for anyone who has ever opened their inbox and sighed.

How it works

Every morning we publish a new demotivational quote. You can read it on the homepage, hit randomise for a fresh disappointment, or subscribe and have it delivered to your inbox. We occasionally explain the joke too, because apparently that’s necessary.

Who is behind it

I’m Yoeri, a developer who should know better. I built Kwowt and I keep it running: a small Laravel application, a cron job, and a large amount of resignation. There is no content team and no growth strategy. Just me, pressing buttons and hoping something bleak comes out.

Why “Kwowt”?

It’s “quote” with the vowels rearranged and the optimism removed. It is pronounced however you like. We’re not going to argue.

Anything else?

No data selling. No dark patterns. No motivational posters. If there is ever accidental surplus support, it goes to charities cleaning up after our existential mess. You can fund the futility or stay uninspired, whichever feels more appropriate.
